[Hope this makes sense. We've been drinking a lot of rum.] Okay, so despite my pre-tanning efforts, I'm red as a lobster here in St. Croix. We lucked out the first night of our trip when we didn't have a hotel room for the night (Monday). Our flight from SLC to Chicago was cancelled, so we could only make it to Puerto Rico via Dallas that night, missing our connecting flight to St. Croix, and American Airlines gave us a free hotelroom, a taxi ride to and from the hotel, and meal tickets for dinner and breakfast. So instead of worrying where we'd stay Monday, we had a fantastic room at the Marriott in San Juan for the night. We just ate dinner at the bar and strolled the beach to pass the time. We got to St. Croix by noon the next day (Tuesday), and waited on the beach for the family. The whole crew arrived at ~4:30pm, and we had a big dinner that night with my mom and dad, Matt and Carolyn and their three kids, Padma, Hari, Priya and Vinay, and of course Rick and me. The next day (Wednesday) we hung on the beach, and that night Tejal, Prakash, and their three kids and nanny and boyfriend arrived. We went to dinner with them at a local restaurant in town called Savant. Thursday we went on a tour of the Cruzan rum factory and that night we hit the casino. Rick and I won $135 at the black jack table proving our luck is great this trip. Again we hung on the beach today (Friday), when I got my lobster color and Rick won a free drink in a crab race. He bet on Scarface the crab. Tonight there's supposed to be a big party at a karaoke bar for Matt and Carolyn's anniversary (ten years), and their 40th birthdays. Yah, they're old! Just kidding!!! More Lobster Chronicles when I am off the rum and sober again. :)
