Hoppy Easter 2008!

Hi! I hope everyone had a nice Easter. We had some visitors for the weekend, which was awesome! Russ and Dawn came from Chicago to board and hang out with us. Saturday the guys went to hit the mountain hard, including hiking up to some runs. The gals did some Easter activities instead. First we took Abby to the Easter egg 'hunt' on town square. This year they had 7200 eggs midst the snow that covered the whole square. Abby cried again this year and then told me to pick up the eggs for her, and then she finally picked up two herself, and one was a prize egg. We zipped over to pick up her prize. It was 9 degrees, so we were freezing and wanted to get out of there asap. She got a big pink ball. Fun! Then we went to Bubba's for breakfast. Yum! After breakfast we went shopping for Easter basket and egg coloring supplies. We also bought a present for Andrew's birthday, but we didn't end up going to his swimming party at the rec center because of Abby's hand injury which is finally getting better. We just dropped the present off for Andrew instead. When the guys got back from boarding, we had a goulash throw down with Brandon and Nikki. Motto of the night - Everything tastes better with 'steve'. Email me for more info on that one! B&N brought Abby a monster chocolate bunny and an egg that you put in water, and it hatches a chick in 12-24 hours. Abby was obsessed with carrying the egg around in its glass all night long. Abby got to color her eggs, and she colored her hands again too, kind of a blueish green. She made some nice eggs. I didn't color even one!

Easter Sunday we let her rip into her basket and eat some eggs before church, and then we went to the church breakfast and service. I should have taken a picture of her in her Easter dress, but I didn't! After church we grabbed a snack at Hard Drive and then took Russ and Dawn to the airport. It was sad to see them go. Then we just hung around the house, moping, until dinner time. Abby's egg was forceably hatched. She just couldn't wait! Brandon and Nikki invited us over for dinner, so we went over to their place and played a couple of board games with them, Tyler and Corie too, until the yummy ham was done. It was a good Easter weekend all in all. It came and went so fast though! Rick's mom will be here Tuesday, and then we leave for St. Croix on Sunday! We have to drive to Salt Lake Sunday, and we fly out at the crack of dawn Monday morning! It's so exciting! We can't wait for some sun, fruity drinks on the beach, and some r&r! YEAH!!!

My prize!

See food.

I'll do it myself! (She doesn't want help peeling the eggs.)

Quiet time for daddy. Abby bought him earplugs for his Easter basket. Her words: "So you can't hear me screaming, dada!"

Close-up on the chick that hatched Sunday.

Making a funny face for the camera.

A basket of eggs.

My chicken! She loves this little guy!

Ahhh . . . . stuff's starting to make more sense now. Thanks for pointing me to the blog. You're the only one that still blogs. Okay, kudos to Shelly for posting more than semi-annually (like me). Anybody heard from Julie lately?

I like that big pink ball. You know, I thought our easter egg hunt was bad b/c it snowed like 3 inches that morning (in the midst of several 50-50 degree days), but I have to say snow and 9 degrees beats our problems by far.
